This recipe is easy and quick to make in less than 10 minutes and serves 1-2 people.
It’s definitely one of my favorite smoothies because it’s so refreshing and vitalizing! It really gives me a boost of energy and makes me feel alive! And it’s very healthy too!
Green smoothies are something you might need to get used to at first, so if you like it more sweet, you could use some more orange.
Ingredients:
- A bunch of kale
- 2 stalks of celery
- A bunch of cilantro or parsley
- A little thumb of ginger (or as much as you can handle)
- A thumb of fresh turmeric or 1 tsp. powder
- 1/2 lime
- 1 orange
- 1 tbsp. flaxseed
- a pinch of black pepper, crushed*
- 1/2 tbsp. moringa powder (optional)*
Directions:
- Wash the veggies, ginger and turmeric. Rip the kale of the stemms, cut up the celery, cilantro, ginger and turmeric and add it all to your blender. I used organic ginger and turmeric and didn’t peel it, just wash it well.
- Peel the orange and lime, remove eventual seeds and add the fruit also to your blender. Add the remaining ingredients (flaxseed, black pepper, moringa) to your blender too and fil it up with water. I filled it up until I reached the 800ml mark of my blender cup.
- Then blend it until smooth and enjoy!
*The piperine from black pepper helps to absorb the curcumine from turmeric. Therefore you can take more of an advantage of its health benefits.
*Moringa is one of my favorite ‘superfoods’ because it is for example rich in calcium and also has many more health benefits.
