These lemonades take only about 5-10 minutes to make and make about 1-1,5 liter of lemonade.
This are probably not the type of lemonades you have seen before, but I personally really love them And would highly recommend you try them out! It’s nice to switch the plain water up sometimes with lemonades like these because it’s yummm of course and it might help you to drink more because of that. And they are healthy and without added sugars too!
The forest lemonade really gives me a little bit of Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing) feeling at home which is definitely relaxing to me!
Ingredients forest lemonade:
- 2 little twigs of fir tree needles*
- 1/2 cup blackberries, fresh or frozen
Directions:
- Wash the twigs and rip all the green needles off the twigs and put them in a little blender. If you have wild picked or fresh blackberries make sure to wash them gently and add them also to your blender. (I used blackberries which I picked in the wild and then washed and stored in the freezer).
- Add a little bit of water and make a smooth mini smoothie. It’s easier to blend it smooth when there is less water instead of already 1 liter.
- Strain the smoothie and fill your blender with some water to rinse it also through your strainer with fruit pulp to get all the juice out of it before you throw it away. I strain it to make sure there are no fir needles left. Either put a little strainer over a funnel to fill it in to a bottle or carafe straight away or strain it in to a bowl first and then pour into a bottle or carafe. Fill with water to the top and enjoy!
*Fir, Spruce or Pine tree needles are all good options and different in taste. I used Fir tree needles because they have something lemony to them which I really like for the lemonade. Make sure you know for sure that you are picking from the right tree because there are also toxic ones out there like the Yew tree. Also make sure to pick from wild (forest) trees which are not sprayed with eventual pesticides or anything like that and not directly near a busy road. Only pick little ends from some different twigs so the tree can keep growing in a balanced way. I also like to look for some twigs that did fall off, lying on the ground but are still fresh.
The golden lemonade really gives me a kick and vitalizes and energizes me, and it can help with digestion too!
Ingredients golden lemonade:
- A thumb of turmeric
- A thumb of ginger
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- A pinch of black pepper, crushed*
- 1/2 lemon
- 1 orange
Directions:
- Wash your ginger and turmeric and peel them if they are not organic or the peel is already a bit dry and old. Then cut them into slices and add to a little blender.
- Peel the orange and lemon, cut into slices, remove the seeds and also add to the blender together with the rest of the ingredients and a little bit of water and blend it smooth.
- If you like you can strain this one also or just pour it into your bottle or carafe as is and fil it up with water. I didn’t strain this one.
- If you want it more sweet, add some more orange and eventually adjust the amount of ginger to your preferences. Enjoy!
*The piperine from black pepper helps to absorb the curcumin from turmeric. Therefore you can take more of an advantage of its health benefits.
